Defaulting

I wonder, Peter, if you ever -though it only runs since a short time - had any loans defaulting yet?

All Kiva loans are being repaid dilligently, but there is one issue with the repayment to a loan we made to a Palestinian lady, which seems to be defaulting.

I have asked them for an explanation.

It might have something to do with the Gaza conflict of course... I would imagine that people have different priorities at this moment. Either the lady moved, was displaced, or can't be in contact with the micro finance organisation on the spot, or maybe the latter closed during the conflict...

Just had a message from Kiva... It seems the loan they reported defaulting (from the lady in Palestine) was a technical glitch:

This is an update on your loan to Suzan Hamoudeh in Palestine. Due to an administrative error, this loan was accidentally set to defaulted. Please note that the error has been corrected, and the loan will remain active until it reaches its term.

Coming back to Johnny's initial question: this means up to now we had no defaulting loans so far...
